Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most commonly asked questions.
We are open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. During the winter months, we are closed.
We’re very sorry, but that is not possible. We would have to stop what we’re doing, such as taking cuttings. When we return, the cuttings are often wilted.
We do not ship plants, prepare orders, or reserve plants! Each year, we grow around 3,500 species of perennials. This is the largest assortment of perennials in the Netherlands and possibly in Western Europe. Cultivating this diversity, experiencing the surprises it brings, and engaging with our customers make this the best job in the world.
Unfortunately, we have to make a choice: maintaining and expanding our unique plant collection makes it impossible for us to ship plants, prepare orders, or reserve plants.
You can find that under the 'Plants' heading in the menu. The inventory is automatically updated every Wednesday evening. On Thursday, you have the best chance of finding your desired plant still in stock. However, availability may change earlier than expected, especially on busy days.
If you need a large quantity of a single species, we recommend sending us an email.
That depends on the time of year. During early spring and summer, we are actively propagating. As a result, most plants are available again from late August through September.
A reservation is essentially an order, which means we would have to collect the plants in advance. They would then have to sit in a box for days or weeks, where they deteriorate quickly. It’s not good for us, and it’s even worse for the plants. That’s why we stopped taking reservations.
No, it is certainly not mandatory.
However, it is very useful to create one. The collection list is a handy tool that helps you locate plants at the nursery—essentially a shopping list. You can print it out or display it on your phone. The plants are always listed in the order of the walking route through the nursery. More information.
No, we do not. Please bring your own boxes or crates when you visit. However, we do have small bags made from cornstarch, which we sell for €0.10.
Yes, you can find them here.
Yes, we ensure that there is enough stock every week for bagging. If not, this will be clearly stated on the homepage of the website.
Dogs are allowed on the nursery as long as they are on a leash. Please make sure to clean up after them. There are two female dogs (Stabijs) roaming freely on the nursery. They may be curious.
No, we only grow perennials, herbs, ornamental grasses, and ferns.
We do not serve lunch, and unfortunately, no pastries either. However, we do have a good coffee machine and delicious tea in the shed, with enough space for around 50 people. You can also sit outside on the terrace.
Absolutely! Keep an eye on the homepage for updates.
With great regret, we have made the decision to stop shipping plants by mail.
