There are many different ways to use leaf mould:
Improve planting holes: Mix half of the planting hole with leaf mould.
Mulch layer: A layer of two centimetres ensures a nice loose top layer and prevents weeds from germinating.
Winter protection: All non-evergreen perennials that are not completely hardy will benefit from a 10 cm thick layer. Plants such as Agapanthus will easily survive the winter this way.
Potting soil: As you may know, we grow all our plants in leaf mould. To fertilise, mix 300 grams of Innogreen 4-4-14+2MgO per 40-litre bag. Adding some DCM lava granulate for trace elements makes it even better. A 5 kg bag per 40 litres is sufficient.
Hellebore soil: We stopped selling ready-made hellebore soil years ago. Mixing it became too much work. But you can easily make it yourself: five 40-litre bags of leaf mould, 1 bag (20 kg) DCM lava granulate and 3 kg Innogreen 4-4-14+2MgO. Of course, you can also use smaller quantities, as long as you maintain the same ratio.
