Tools
Gardening is much more enjoyable when you invest in good tools. They are not cheap, which is why we always say: "Don't buy them online, try them out first." Some tools feel much better to use than others. We use the tools we sell ourselves every day. If you like, you can try out our own tools at the nursery, so you can always make the right choice. We have a very wide range in stock, especially in the spring, mainly from the well-known Sneeboer brand.
Sneeboer Garden Tools
We have been selling Sneeboer stainless steel tools for over twenty years. They are virtually unrivalled and are sold all over the world. The hand tools, such as planting trowels, weeders, forks and scrapers, are particularly outstanding, but there is also a wide range of spades, rakes, hoes and similar tools.
HOMI Korean Hand Shovel
We once bought this tool at the Dixter Plant Fair in England and were immediately delighted with it. Rarely have we worked with such a handy scraper. It fits perfectly in the hand. Not only is it great for scraping (cutting weeds by hand), but you can also use it to make seed furrows and planting holes and even 'plough' the soil shallowly. The latter is what it has been used for in rice fields in Korea for centuries. It is not made of stainless steel, like the Sneeboer tool, but this can also have advantages. It is a little easier to sharpen. Clean it after use and store it in a dry place. We now finally have them for sale at a very reasonable price.

Chikamasa Pruning and Cutting Shears
The Japanese Chikamasa pruning and cutting shears are made from high-quality materials. They are much more convenient for use with perennials and light woody plants than the often heavy pruning shears, which are also much more expensive. We have been using them ourselves for years. We have six models:
T55C Cutting tool - Cutting shears
T55C Cutting tool - Cutting shears
The blue, standard model for home and garden use. Very suitable for all kinds of jobs, light cutting and, thanks to its fine finish, also very suitable for cutting cuttings. These scissors are always very popular on our cutting course.

T-7C Harvesting and Cutting Shears, Long Nose
T-7C Harvesting and Cutting Shears, Long Nose
Strangely enough, you cannot buy this model in shops. The extra-long blade makes it ideal for working between perennials, both in summer when cutting back shoots and in spring when doing a thorough clean-up. Do not use it to cut woody material, as the long blade is too fragile for this. For this purpose, choose the shorter model E-6C with a serrated blade. This is the most commonly used model at our nursery and the most popular with our customers.

E-6C Pruning Shears, serrated blade
E-6C Pruning Shears, serrated blade
The more robust model with two serrations at the back of the jaws, which prevent thicker twigs from sliding forward. The jaws are also made of thicker material than those of the long model. Very suitable for thicker perennial stems and thinner pruning work on roses. Please note that these are not branch pruning shears; you cannot prune thick woody branches with them. We use these handy shears a lot.

B250 Cutting and Bonsai Scissors
B250 Cutting and Bonsai Scissors
A very fine pair of scissors with a perfect finish. We use them a lot to take soft, fine summer cuttings. They allow you to work very precisely and fit comfortably in the hand. Also suitable for bonsai trees and for pruning grapes.

TP-530 Cutting and Harvesting Shears
TP-530 Cutting and Harvesting Shears
New in our range! A pair of scissors that is suitable for the same purposes as the B250, but looks slightly less attractive. However, it is more practical thanks to the spring that makes the scissors easier to open. If you do a lot of pruning or fruit harvesting, this makes the work much less tiring. The long, narrow blade is very handy.

PS-7-Y pruning shears
PS-7-Y pruning shears
Actually a ladies' model, but what a great pair of pruning shears! The total length is 185 mm with a blade length of 45 mm. The cutting blade has a fluorine coating, so less plant sap sticks to it. These high-quality Japanese pruning shears can compete with the well-known, expensive Swiss-made shears. Truly a pair of shears for pruning woody plants.
