Late summer, the best time to plant!

It is now harvest time, and the nursery is filled with freshly potted plants. Try to visit in April, when you will have to make do with the remnants from the previous year.
We are done potting
We know that many of you look forward to this annual message! When we have finished potting, it means that the sales beds are bursting at the seams. Stock has never been greater than it is now, and it will only increase in the coming weeks. The current stock is updated every Wednesday evening on the website. To view it, go to 'Plants' - 'View the entire range' and then click on 'Show only what's in stock'
Both spring and early summer were not ideal for planting. It was much too dry and too warm. But now it has rained nicely and everything you plant now will take root quickly and develop well before winter. Most will even flower again in September. So start early! In any case, we need to reconsider planting in spring in view of climate change.
So don't wait until spring, get started on your garden early in autumn. The plants will sprout with a fully developed root system next spring and will be much better able to cope with the dry summer weather that follows. Especially if you improve the soil with our leaf compost.
And don't forget: the mother beds now look fantastic!
We look forward to seeing you here!
