Sowing and cutting courses in 2025

The cutting and sowing courses have become something of a classic. We know from previous years that they usually fill up quickly, so don't wait too long to reserve your place. You can do this by sending us an email, to which we will reply with a confirmation. We have also noticed that people sometimes cancel at the last minute or, worse still, do not show up. This is very annoying. That is why we send everyone a reminder email two weeks before the date in question, allowing you to cancel free of charge. If you do not do this and do not show up, we will still send you an invoice.
Registration is therefore essential! Preferably by e-mail (bio@hessenhof.nl). Payment can be made on the day itself. (Debit card available)

This is an excellent time for propagating cuttings, and you would be surprised how many perennials and shrubs can be easily propagated in this way. After an hour of theory, we will get started ourselves. Cuttings, potting soil and pots will be provided. Participants in this course are often so enthusiastic that they immediately get started at home. Fully booked every year . €27.50 including a few pots with cuttings.
Course on sowing by Hans Kramer
Tuesday, 28 October, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CET)
Wednesday, 29 October, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CET)
During the last opening week of the year, we give one of the most interesting practical lessons. The fascination with a seed that germinates has been around for centuries. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer people are sowing seeds themselves. It adds so much to gardening and is so easy. We can sow many perennials and shrubs. How does that work and can we just sow anything? What is the best soil for sowing and how long do we have to wait for something to sprout? Always fully booked. €27.50 including a few pots full of promise to take home with you.
Guided tour
We are also participating in the national open day “Kijken bij de Kweker” (A Look at the Nursery). On Saturday 20 September, we will be giving an extensive guided tour that will take you behind the scenes of the nursery. More information.
