The summer break is over, we’re open again!
From 6 August to 31 October, we will be open again at our usual times: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Perhaps you missed the visits to the nursery and the seedbeds over the summer months. And we’ve missed you too. It was very quiet, which is something we’re not really used to. We’re delighted to see some hustle and bustle returning to the nursery.
On the other hand, though, we’ve been able to work in complete peace and quiet. Particularly given the extremely hot and dry weather we’ve had – and are still experiencing – it was no small luxury to have extra time to propagate and care for thousands of young plants. The young plants in the nursery beds were able to continue growing undisturbed without being trampled on. (Sorry to say this, but it’s happening more and more often.) As a result, they look magnificent and are in perfect condition, despite the drought, though in all honesty we did water them once a week during the hot spell.
Perhaps most importantly, the sales beds have never been so full. And we’re not exaggerating. Just take a look at the accompanying video. And the quality is fantastic! That’s simply down to the summer break. The plants had more time to grow, received plenty of care, and we had plenty of time to prune them back, sometimes as many as two or three times. This results in strong, bushy plants with plenty of winter buds.
As you may be aware, the current stock levels on the website are updated weekly. If you’d like to stay fully up to date, please check the site on Wednesday evenings after 8.00 pm. That’s when the stock levels for that week are updated.
There’s more than enough leaf mould to scoop up; we’ve unpacked a new batch of earthenware pots from Erk Kanis. Chikamasa pruning shears and fertilisers – we’ve got plenty of everything back in stock.
And, as always, we’re ready to welcome you and offer advice. We’re really looking forward to it. We hope to see you soon!
